General Information: Established in 1961 as a non-profit organization,
SUCI is dedicated to promoting safe diving to
the sport diver through education. SUCI offers
PADI Open Water Scuba Diver, Advanced Scuba Diver,
Rescue Diver, and Dive Master certification programs.
Spring and Fall sessions run 9 weeks including
classroom and pool instruction, followed by an
Open Water Check Out in June. Specialties, Master
Scuba Diver, and Assistant Instructor training
available upon request. Group diving excursions
are organized by the club's Divemasters and are
open to all certified club members. Safety equipment
on all club dives includes O2 tank and first aid
kit. Types of diving include: wreck, boat, shore,
river, night and quarry diving. Membership benefits
include: Ontario Underwater Council membership,
year-round diving, continuous education and practice,
weekly recreational swim, monthly meetings with
guest speakers and various social events.
