General Information: South Bristol Divers is Branch 0729 of the British
Sub-Aqua Club (BS-AC). Formed in 1967 our aim
is to provide interesting and safe diving for
our members. For those needing training we have
nationally qualified instructors within the club.
Once you join South Bristol Divers all your training
to Dive Leader level (with the exception of Skill
Development Courses) is FREE. For beginners we
even provide all the equipment you will need in
the swimming pool. We have our own RIB with full
safety equipment and satellite navigation aids.
We dive mostly on Sundays and try to dive somewhere
most weekends between April and October. Most
diving is done at the South Coast between Lyme
Bay and Plymouth but we also go "hard boat" diving
further out for more experienced divers. At Bank
Holidays we try to go further afield, often for
a full week. Training goes on all year round.
If open water training cannot be fitted in to
a normal diving weekend we have the option of
a number of freshwater sites to choose from. South
Bristol Divers welcome all divers and can offer
crossover courses for those who are not already
BS-AC qualified. We also welcome newcomers to
the sport and hope to be able to introduce you
to our fabulous underwater world.
