Subject: Re: truth about bondage wings
Richard,

Is it true that Divers Supply has copied a known dangerous system of
bouyancy comepensation?

I certainly hope that these people were not that foolish. Are they not
aware of the list of several fatalities in which bondage wings have been
implicated?

It is true that the victims were grossly overweighted and that they
apparently had not considered the compression of their wet suits due to
the exteme depth. They did; however, believe the manufacturers claims
regrading the supposed lift characteristics of these wings. These lift
specs are invalid if the "bungees" restrict the proper inflation of the
bag. This sad fact has been demonstrated tragically more than once.

What we may have here is another "Ford Pinto" a la OMS. If the victims
are ever recovered attorneys for the plaintiffs will test these wings to
see just what lift they actually were capable of in the coniditions of
the accident.
