Jammer,

I totally agree with you that labels don't mean shit, but taken in with the
procedure of how I was taught to label tanks, the label can take on meaning.

For example, if you drop off your tanks at the local shop and then pick
them up later, the label on the tank is proof of your desire to have
someone else keep safe your testicles. Complete and utter trust..

But I was taught a specific set of guidelines for having Nitrox (no
expereince with trimix, but I suppose the same guidelins could be applied)
tanks filled. I deliver my tanks to the store, and empty the gas that is
left in them. I dial-a-mix and watch them get filled... After their
filled, we shoot the shit and let the tanks roll. We then anilyze the fo2,
twice. Slap some duct tape on with the fo2, and mod.

So after all this, I ask you, when your ready to get wet with the above
mix, can't you be confident of whats inside?

The only other way to be completely confident of the mix is to anilyze it
right there before you jump into the water.. If it were a perfect world,
this would be the norm. The world is not normal, and neither are most
divers.

Safe Diving,
