What a great idea! Tell you what, I'll get started on it straight away!
Now, hmm, what will I eat and where will I live and who will pay for my
network connection while I do this?
More to the point, why isn't this important area of research being pursued
with more vigour? NO FUNDING. The Aust Government has already tipped in
$100K. Too bad the people who might (might, not will) benefit aren't
prepared to cough up a few bucks (for which they get something tangible anyway).
I know, I'll write and sell a book (or copies of my PhD thesis)! What a
great idea. Now if I can only get people to send an international bank
draft for AUD$250 to the Department of Anaesthesia, University of Adelaide
I'll send them a copy of my thesis and that will mean I can give up my paper
round and put ALL this stuff (and a lot more) on a WWW server and go back to
the laboratory!
